Shop Small Saturday 2022

You may have heard that small business is the backbone of the American economy, but have

you ever seen the stats that back that up?

According to the Small Business Administration, companies with 500 employees or fewer make up 99.9% of all businesses in the US.

It can be hard to tell locally, since we live in a town built by the largest private employer in America, but think for a moment how one division of that company, Sam’s Club, was designed solely to serve small business, like restaurants, offices, freelancers and sole proprietors. Seen through that lens, it’s no wonder the company is so successful when the data shows, 99.9% of all businesses are potential customers.

In our very own towns throughout Northwest Arkansas, entire downtown areas are devoted to small mom-and-pops. It is for these businesses that Shop Small Saturday was started. When you support small business, you strengthen the local economy and support the population. This is even more true now that the Holiday season is upon us.

Did you know that NWA Workplaces is a small, Veteran-owned business? Started nearly 8 years ago, the support of the local community has helped us grow from a single location with just a handful of offices, into a local coworking operation that spans two locations in Bentonville with over two dozen different office spaces of varying sizes and shapes. We have private offices for individuals and small teams, open desk seating for remote workers, dedicated cubicles for folks who don’t want or need an office to themselves, meeting space for 2-20, plus virtual office and business mail services for small companies, contractors, and those who wish to keep their personal address separate from their professional one.

Who uses our spaces, you may ask? The world of work is changing, and our coworking business model allows employees with hybrid work or remote work flexibility the option of a day office or hot desk on days when distractions at home are too great. We also offer dedicated space, so you can leave your laptop and other work things here. Coffee is always free for everybody, as is tea and hot cocoa. Snacks are only $1, and there is a restaurant on-site open four days a week offering salads, sandwiches and flatbreads.

If you know someone who would appreciate having a place more conducive to work than the coffee shop, consider a membership to our Frontage Rd location. We are easy to get to from the interstate or via the Razorback Greenway, and we have plenty of secure, indoor bike storage in our lobby. And yes, you can even ride your bike up our ramp and right in the door. Contact us here or call us (479) 715-0394 to discuss a custom plan perfect for Christmas Gift Giving. (And yes, you can use your American Express!)
