Ah, winter. That stretch of about 3 weeks in January-February when it’s cold, it’s snowy, busses can’t run so schools are closed, and things seem to grind to a halt. This is what passes for winter in NWA. Fortunately, it doesn’t last long. We’re already looking ahead to spring, and there’s so much on the horizon.
Our neighborhood trailside snack stop, The Bend, is up and running, churning out a limited menu of sandwiches, flatbreads, salads and adult beverages - including their signature “Bucket of Mimosas”, just in time for Valentines Day, but also sure to become a staple well into spring, summer, and beyond. Look for the Bend’s Grand Opening on March 17th.
Bike shop and school Buddy Pegs will come back to life during Spring Break, though truthfully, they never go away, even in the depths of winter.
Pedal it Forward, a local nonprofit that aims to provide a free bicycle to everyone in NWA who needs one, will ramp up their activities with events and volunteer opportunities at their Bentonville HQ and throughout the region.
Ivy Cabinets is also nearby. They’re the ones who made the large Arkansas-shaped Adirondack chairs you see all over town. There’s one just up the road from us at 5th Street. Walk about 200 yards to the east for the best sunny day Instagramming and hashtagging you can have in the middle of the workday.
And pediatric occupational therapy practice ReWild The Child never went dormant, but if you did, look for them in and around the woods and creek on the east side of Wishing Springs Road.
And at NWA Workplaces, we look forward to the warmer weather so we, and our members, can get out and enjoy the outdoors, whether on the Razorback Greenway, or further afield on the Back 40, Slaughter Pen, or Coler. Both our offices offer immediate Greenway access, making our coworking spaces reachable by bike, on foot, or by car. Once you’re here, sneak out for a ride at lunch, stretch your legs between meetings with a quick walk, or just sit outside and soak up the sun.
Remember whether you are here for the flex space, have a private office, a dedicated cubicle, are hot desking it for the day, or just picking up your mail as part of your Virtual Office package, we offer free coffee, tea, and filtered water to all our members, plus we have a dollar snack bar that can’t be beat.
