A tradition at NWA WP since 2022
A few years ago, egged on by a now-defunct national organizing effort, NWA Workplaces started awarding goofy DIY trophies made out of scrap wood and bike parts found in the trash at a local bike shop. What started with 2 or 3 participants has grown to ten across both locations, and has gone from first-place award of 75 miles to north of 200 in September 2024.
Bentonville is at the forefront of of bicycling in the USA, not just for #MTB but also for #Gravel and #RoadBikes. What was once a town with 3 bike shops has grown into a metro with more than a dozen, plus a mobile bike mechanic, and two brand-owned “experience centers”, Specialized and YT. We have something for riders of all experience levels, and coming soon, a bike lift with dozens of miles of downhill trail, in the heart of Bella Vista.
Bike Month 2025 is well underway now, with ten participants vying for three trophies. We’re barely 5 days in and the top rider already has 50 miles.
If you’d like in on the action, it’s not too late to join. Reach out here with your Strava link. The only rules are you must log your rides on Strava, and they must be outdoor recreation or commutes. Contest ends at midnight May 31, 2025.
